Data protection

Data protection

On May 25, 2018, the GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation) came into force. This regulation aims to improve data protection for consumers. The previous Federal Data Protection Act has been revised and now supplements the GDPR with national regulations. The GDPR regulates how companies handle consumers' personal data. Personal data is all information that allows us to identify you personally. So, among other things, name, address, date of birth, telephone number, location, identification numbers, online identifiers, and even special characteristics. But the IP address also falls under this category. As do test results and certificates.

The GDPR as the Official Journal of the European Union in the form of a PDF file can be found here:

http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/DE/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:32016R0679&from=DEWhat is personal data?

On this page we inform you about the purpose, scope, legal basis and storage period of your personal data. We will also inform you about the rights you now have under the GDPR against companies that collect, store and process your personal data.

Why do we need your personal data? / Purpose and scope

We only ask for your personal data to the extent that it is necessary for the purpose. As a company, we need your personal data, such as name, address, email address and telephone number, in order to be able to contact you. We now need your consent to do this. For example, at the end of our contact form in the Contact menu item you will find such a declaration of consent.

For declarations of consent from people under the age of 16, which can occur, for example, when applying for an internship or training position, we also require the consent of the legal guardian.

You can revoke your consent at any time, for example by sending an email to datenschutz@detert-edelstahl.de.

If you revoke your consent to data processing or object to the use of your personal data, this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on your consent before its revocation.
